Univar Solutions Inc. is a global chemical and ingredients distributor that also provides value-add logistics services. The company was founded in 1924 as Van Waters & Rogers, it later became Royal Vopak and finally, Univar Solutions.

Through the expertise of its workforce and the strength of its resilient supply chains and networks, the company is dedicated to bringing new and innovative chemical and ingredient products to market faster.

Univar’s Challenge

With innovation at the forefront of what defines their broad range of services, which include distribution, supply chain and inventory management, waste management and sustainability, and lab and technical services, Univar is continually expanding to deliver better integral ingredients and specialty chemicals to the world. This requires ongoing volume recruiting to meet their varied and complex supply chain needs.

With international hiring requirements, local language considerations, and an emphasis placed on a unified branded candidate experience, Univar’s internal recruiting teams were unable to meet their volume hiring needs. They also lacked the resources to redefine their employer brand proposition (EVP) across their online channels. They needed an RPO partner who could review their global EVP, support their US and Latin America recruitment needs and deliver a high volume of Inside Sales, Outside Sales, IT, Technical, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and College candidates.

Building a Successful Talent Solution

Univar placed a heavy emphasis on candidate quality, and to meet this Pierpoint suggested a hybrid approach. We created an off-site, virtual team to address their current Career site and develop and deliver an improved design and multi-lingual narrative that would better capture their company culture and employee value proposition to attract high-level candidates.

Our on-site delivery RPO team redesigned their recruitment processes, working with their existing ATS to drive better quality data and analytics which was delivered through a customized reporting package.

The revamped Career Site coupled with branded talent attraction campaigns in both the United States and Latin America delivered the required volume of candidates. The Pierpoint on-site team of 35+ multilingual consultants ensured a smooth interview and onboarding process through extensive program management and coordination.

Our Enterprise RPO solutions and recruitment marketing support delivered in a hybrid package meant that Pierpoint was able to harness Univar’s employer brand effectively to create an international hiring process and experience that attracted the right quality and quantity of candidates.
